1999 Chrysler Town & Country

New for the 1999 Chrysler Town & Country is that it became the auto industry's
first luxury minivan. Added to it is the Limited trim, which included chrome wheels
and body accents, and an interior trimmed in a material Chrysler calls Preferred
Suede. A new reclining child safety seat is available in models equipped with
Quad Command seating. The 1999 Chrysler Town & Country has two trim categories -
the All Wheel Drive and the Front Wheel Drive. The first trim category comes
in 3 trim lines - the LX AWD, LXi AWD, and Limited AWD, whereas the second trim
category comes in 4 trim lines - the SX, LX, LXi, and Limited. All trims have
a standard 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, and a 7 seating maximum capacity.
All trims now have a cargo net between the front seats.
The All Wheel Drive trims have a standard engine of 3.8L V6, producing a 180
@ 4400 rpm horsepower, and a torque of 240 @ 3250 rpm, while the Front Wheel Drive
trims have a standard engine of 3.3L V6, producing a 148 @ 4850 rpm horsepower,
and a 203 @ 3250 rpm torque. Other standard features of the 1999 Town & Country
are the air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power seats, cassette
player, and ABS brakes. CD player and leather seats are also standard except for
the LX AWD, SX, and LX trims, and so with the traction control except only for
the SX and LX trims. It received an overall rating of 8.7 for from 1737 consumers.
It got a perfect reliability rating of 5 for 5. A frontal crash test rating of
4 out 5 both for the driver front and passenger front were given to it by the
NHTSA.
