1997 Chrysler Town & Country
Chrysler has used the Town & Country name on a variety of cars since the
1940s, when it first appeared on a wood-bodied convertible, but the 1997 Chrysler
Town & Country does not offer the wood-grain exterior trim option available
on its predecessors, but the formerly optional driver's-side sliding rear door
has been made standard for this year. The 1997 Chrysler Town & Country is
said to be a very opulent ultra mini van if the prosaic machines ever needed a
foreign description, and that dynamically speaking, it is pretty wonderful for
a vehicle about the dimensions of a standard bathroom.
The 1997 Town & Country comes in 5 trims - the SX, LX, LX AWD, LXi, and the
LXi AWD. All trims have a standard 4-speed automatic transmission and 7 seating
maximum capacity. Other standard features available for all trims are air conditioning,
power windows, power door locks, cassette player, and ABS brakes. The SX and LX
trims have a standard engine of 3.3L V6, creating a 158 @ 4850 rpm horsepower,
and a 203 @ 3250 rpm torque, while the remaining 3 trims have a standard engine
of 3.8L V6, creating a horsepower of 166 @ 4300 rpm, and a torque of 227 @ 3100
rpm.
